Not much happens in this book. She gets kidnapped, he ineptly searches for her. She has a hard time dealing with it, but they get it together in the end. I felt like the characters were incompletely drawn - if you haven't read the first book, you can't enjoy this one. They felt very cardboard. He's a control freak who likes to be kinky - not a real Dom. She doesn't have a submissive bone in her body, but she loves him and wants to be with him so she does whatever he wants. He beats on her when he doesn't like what she's doing, I guess because communicating would just be too hard...The bad guy behaved really oddly as well - he would starve her, beat her, and take her to clubs to let other men abuse her, but he wouldn't have sex with her because he wanted her to love him - huh?
Overall, unsatisfying characters, not much plot, so I was disappointed.

Consumed Keeping her in the Dark Book 2 edition by Leslie Sansom Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Liam and Norah's relationship reach a new level in the follow-up to Sold. Not only do they face individual challenges, but obstacles as a couple. They come more alive in this book and you see Liam start to understand the depth of his feelings and the changes he's made for Norah.
Things heat up when Norah faces something she never saw coming but I liked that we got to see Liam's point of view for most of it. It was nice to see how he was struggling to help her, as well as seeing her side.
Another excellent read!
this is an all consuming love story and it makes you feel tense and then you let out a sigh of relief. great story.
Ok
Buy. This. Book. I enjoyed the story in the first book, "Sold (Keeping Her in the Dark)" and the vexing-as-ALL-frack cliffhanger of course ensured I was waiting on the sequel, "Consumed (Keeping Her in the Dark)." [Well played, Ms. Sansom *hat tip*] Here's the very first thing out of the gate Prologue--total grabber, I'm so in. First Chapter I'm so hating this guy, screaming at my iPad, Second Chapter... Had to read it twice. The heat, the HEAT. Pacing, tempo, rhythm, sentences, content, character, so SO rockin', SO ROCKIN'! From that point on the novel is well constructed, story well told, and all the things I sensed intuitively about the two main characters from the Sold that were not articulated enough for me to feel certain I was getting these two, are fully fleshed out in Consumed [Not sure if that's a pun, but... YMMV]. Extremely satisfying to me. The damage, the triumphs, the struggle are all put together well. Liam & Norah are characters I can fully get behind now (and I'm so NOT a fan of rich guys--work with too many of them; maybe because Liam is flawed & fracked up enough, I dunno). I also admire the length; even if it's "short" page-wise, it works, it's exactly what it needs to be and gets the job well done. I could pull quotes from this book all day to demonstrate what I liked and why I think it makes this story and this installment so well done. On the second read, I highlighted so much I had to come up with a highlighting color code scheme just to organized what I liked and why. After that cliffhanger at the end of Sold, I'm a little freaked out about the title of book 3 being "Betrayed"--I'm an old sapp I ALWAYS want the guy to get his girl. But if it's in line with Consumed, I'll just gut it out. Props, Ms. Sansom.
WOW What a read. The story of Liam and Norah continues and has you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next.
The characters are so well written that you really start to develop feelings for these characters in the story.
I can' wait for the next book
Wow, I thought that the first book was good, but Damn if the second book didn't beat it! I absolutely love this book. And I can't wait to read the next book, it just keeps my interests going and going! Amazing writing that goes beyond keeping the story going and interesting!
I enjoy dark stories and I liked this one, however I didn't love it. It does have complicated characters but I felt that some of the story and character choices were just too unreal to believe, which pulled me out of the story at times.
